Reply:My two favorites are Clairol Hydrience and L'Oreal Preference. Both of those will lift your current color with bleach and put in a new color. Most of the time, bleach treatments will damage your hair, but I have used Hydrience for awhile and it works really well for me in keeping my hair from getting dry and damaged from several dye jobs. Feria is a cool haircolor if you want vibrant, dramatic results, but it also fades easily (some of the color will come out in the shower).
Some semi-permanent haircolor products, such as Clairol Natural Instincts, do not have bleach in them and therefore do not take out your current haircolor. This means if you are going from a light haircolor to a dark one, the results will be more noticeable than if you go from dark to light. It also means that depending, you may see no change at all.
Overall, you want to get Permanent Haircolor that will have a bleaching agent and permanent color that you mix together. It will usually come in one box. You would also want this box to contain some sort of after coloring conditioner that will help your hair immediately begin to heal the damage done by dying your hair.

My hair is always curly?
I'm trying to get the edges of my hair straight, but my flat iron isn't working! People have told me to use like a pomade and smooth in on my hair, and to brush it down and tie it with a scarf, but that doesn't work. It's still curly, and nappy looking, while the rest of my hair is straight. I need to touch up my relaxer, but I just dyed my hair again, so I have to wait a few more weeks.
What can I do to get the edges of my hair, like the hairline straight?

The aveda smoothing shampoo works great. Ive always had the same problem as you but now my hair is alot straighter in the morning, then when i straighten it there is no curls. Also you should get a chi if you dont already, if you do then try a paul mitchell.

ok. well, my hair is wavy/ curly. some areas are really curly and other areas are straights.
the sides of my hair are curly and soft, and the back of my hair is straight and rough. the ends of my hair are straight while most of my hair is either wavy or curly. the only time when my hair is nice is when i straighten it, which is super damaging to do all the time. and its also nice when my hair is at the length of my shoulders. now its like a little passed my boob. and i really want to make my hair long. and healthy. which it used to be until i was like 10... how do i have really nice smooth curls without a perm or anything like that. please please help.

Go to a salon and get curls rock hair products, and set an appointment and tell the stylist what you want and let her show you how to get the curls. I have really curly hair and use the products and a diffusor on my blow dryer....

Use a leave in conditioner after washing your hair, comb it out, and squeeze the excess water from your hair, DO NOT RUB IT. After that use a curling spray i.e. tigi bedhead curling spray, (it comes in a clear yellow spray bottle) spray it all over your hair. Get a diffuser, put it on the end of your blow dryer, set it to warm low, and bend over so that you can flip your hair over and let it hang down. Use the diffuser and your fingers to gently scrunch your hair as you dry it. It will come out curly all over and nice and full and look beautiful without being frizzy. Use that leave in conditioner. I recommend Infusium formula 23. You can get it at the store. John freida also makes a really good curling mousse. I don't like L'oreal springing curls mousse cuz it's too heavy and sticky.
Another thing you could do is use hot rollers on the straight sections of your hair. Or soft velcro rollers overnight while you sleep. Just shower at night, put the leave in conditioner and curling spray in, and put the velcro rollers on. Cover your pillow with a thick soft towel. That way you are not using heat to dry your hair.
As far as straightening your hair goes, use something to help protect your hair from the heat like thermasilk. Alterna makes a great straightening balm that works and protects your hair really well. Let your hair dry naturally almost all the way. Get a straightening iron that has felt on it. You will lessen the chance of burning yourself and your hair.

Ok so i did a temp. chemical straightener on my head and it didnt take so good... im 18 brown wavey hair and now it just kinda poofs in the middle its hard to explain but what i want to know is can i put a flat iron to it?? will that make my hair fall out the last thing i want is to be bald... so plz help...

What color highlights should I get and what kind of hair style?
I have 2 inches past my shoulders to work with. wavy/banana curly when wet and sometimes straighter when 2 days of no washing hair lol I have dark brown/black hair. I want an older look. I'm 20. I have a round face. Not a thin thin face but I'm normal shaped with kind of hour glass figure. When I cut my hair too short it gets poofy. What do you think?

My roommate had a flat iron that I really like. It had dark textured plates and yellow buttons. I'm not sure if it was digital or not, but it was definitely variable temperature. It wasn't a chi. The power button was on the outside edge, and the temperature controls were on the outside top.

iv seen heaps of people with them and they just tell me to ask for a side fringe

OMG! Are you trying to make your hair fall out? 40 volume is extremely extremely strong. I hardly ever use it on anyone! Especially for a whole head application. The best thing to turn black hair to blonde is 2 or 3 heavy highlight visits at your salon. Your hair has turned that color because you have removed the dye and exposed the NRP (natural remaining pigment). I would suggest you wait and go to a salon before you fry your hair!!!

I really like Nicole Richie's bangs, I think they're a lot prettier and form-fitting. The first one, no offense, kind of looks like a mess.

Is there any easy way to make my hair like 3 shades lighter at home? I dont wanna waste any money on dye, but I would prefer not to have to sit out in the sun for 6 hours... so just tell me ur tips or something. lol. Anything will do. I just want lighter hair.

Im only 12 and my hair only just comes upto my shoulders. I need some new hairstyles. So far i know, pigtails, plait, ponytail, and i can do the one where you take the little bit and tie it back and then the rest in a ponytail (sorry not very good at explaining) My hair is fairly wavy without being curly. It is also fairly thin and i CAN NOT pull it back into a bun so please dont suggest!!

Maybe do a loose-ish twisted bun and let a couple pieces of it fan out? This one'll last you all your life.

4: do not use rubber bands. get your hair trimmed ever 2-3 months. An average persons hair grows1/2 inch every moth. and your hair grows from the roots. therefore remember cutting your hair does NOT make it grow faster.

I Need Help With My Hair Style!?
I decided I wanted to grow my hair out a little longer. Now that it is about a medium length, kinda shaggy-like, it isn't looking very good, at least I think. It isn't looking too bad, but it could look a lot better. I have very thick hair, that isn't really straight or curly, it has a "flip" to it. My hair is also "poofy". I don't really know what I should do. I want to keep growing it out, so anyone have any advice? Like how I should get it cut or some pictures of a nice medium-long hairstyle for a teen boy?

2.thin the ends of your hair so it has that look (this step isnt nessessary)
3.cut about 3 different sized layers. one hair length, one even to your chin, and one at about your nose
4. cut your bangs to the length of the bottom of your eyes.
5. at the sides of your face, cut about 1cm of hair to about the same length as your layers at your nose.
if you want the exact style:
-put in a couple of random crimps
-straighten, straighten, straighten! *leave a little poof and volume

i have curly hair It's extremly thick. I can't even wear it down with lots of hair products. When i put my hair down everyone flips because it's so thick. 2. The best product I have found that makes my hair soft is Ion Reconstructor Treatment available at Sally Beauty Stores. I left it on overnight and the results - WOW - my hair was soft and smooth. I have some on right now!
3. There is a fairly new product called Curlaway. It is a "relaxer" that is safe. You don't even need gloves. I tried it - and I noticed my hair to be alittle straighter/smoother. But even the product claims it takes the product time to work - like several applications - and they seem to show best results when the product is used in combination with a straightening iron.
If you don't color your hair, I would suggest #1 - but again, ask the professional hairdresser. It may be costly but worth it in the long run.

Solution for rinsing yellowish hair to make it more platinum?
I dye my hair blond and sometimes it's slightly yellowish blond if I use warm blond hair dyes. Does anyone knows a solution for rinsing hair to make the yellow tint go away? just bleach it one more time, or two. and keep the bleach on for a while. that will make all of your hair white. then get a blonde dye, and that will make it blonde.

Reply:If your hair is poofy, you may want to get a ceramic flat iron. Also, your hair could be poofy from high heat damage from straightening with a bad straightener for too long. A deep moisturizing conditioning treatment can help out with that alot.

Reply:Nooo, don't go for a cheap straightner! I have two Chi hair straighteners, they are lovely! My friend has those cute, tight, bouncy curls that make her hair look poofy but when she straightens it with the Chi it looks so nice. It works very well, its worth it.
Reply:CHI all the way!!!! They have reasonable prices and their quality is 100% satisfactory! Just make sure to use product (flat iron spray) so you don't fry your hair... it also works if you don't, but using product reduces split ends and dry hair.

I left it on Kelly Clarkson -- her hairstyle is very flattering and it looks like it would work on your hair.

However you should get a more shoulder cut length that will mostly shape your face but i would not recommend you do more that that. Sorry this is from a guys aspect or viewpoint but i really not stylish with hair and the face. Maybe the hair stylist or wherever you go to get haircuts can help you more.

How hot is a straightner supposed to get?
I was just wondering how horrible my straightener is. It costs $10 and its by Vidal Sassoon. One day i left it on for 8 hours because i went to school and when i came back i touched the plates and it did not even leave a mark on my finger. It just stung for a few seconds. I think its probaly around 120F after 8 hours and it keeps getting hotter. What are some straighteners that dont stink. Im willing to spend $50 or less. I heard CHI is a good brand but it costs more than 50. How hot is a decent straightener supposed to get?

But for as how to get it out, I don't know if there's a best way, but I just scrubbed and massaged in a little extra shampoo a little rougher than normal...It took me like 5 showers to get it completely out, but it did come out.

GO FOR IT!!! if you are worried about how they would look on you... go to stellure.com and upload your photo... see how it would look on you! to get them to poof... curl with a curling iron or use a straightener (only if you know how to do it). Honestly, I use Clairol Hydrience on my hair. It is a permanent dye that uses bleach, but it is very moisturizing and barely damages your hair. I have used it for about 5 years now and it works great for me. My hair is still shiny and gorgeous with very little frizz. I even straighten it sometimes. Another way to avoid damage is to use deep moisturizing conditioners (Hydrience has conditioner included) and also Pantene Pro-V Extra Straight Comb-in cream works wonders for me.

It will give your hair time to get healthy,
since bleach probably didn't help.
If you don't like it after a while, THEN
i would move on to the red.
Reply:use a hair toning shampoo like shimmer lights. this eliminates the brassy orange tones and makes your hair more blonde. after toning, dye your hair with color.
Reply:Very likely. Red hair dye is very permanent and if you ever feel like changing your hair away from it, it will take forever or it will not come out at all.
I suggest Feria in shade of Ruby Rush or Spicy Red

Haircut suggestions?
Anybody have any haircut suggestions? I want something new.. I know they say certain cuts look better on certain ppl by their hair texture and face shape so.. any suggestions?
My hair is blonde, like almost halfway down my back.. I havent grown in long in foreverr, hmm its pretty thin but not super thin. And my face is more round.
I was thinking of going for bangs, stylish ones though, haha.. they seem to be in style but some things I read say they are good but not for my type.

Side bangs would look good on you and will match your face. Also layers w/ light brown highlights would be nice.

anyways, with that length, i suppose you should cut layers. many many many grazillion layers!! short choppy layers and long thin layers.. as your hair is already thin, you're super lucky.
with your blonde hair, add pink into it. (: it's hot . or maybe black. it depends on your type.
my com's a b*tch and won't let me post links here but i suggest you should get side swept bangs. the ones that are swept to the side of your face and covers one of your eyes. they are super rad. (:

Unless you want to have nobody ever take another glance at you because you look just like everyone else, do not get side bangs.
Go for a straight-across fringe that just brushes your eyebrows; if your features are nice and delicate it'll work.
However, if you have stronger features (like a Sicilian nose, or thick eyebrows, or something) please abstain and remain bang-free.
Straight across bangs look really cute on people with round face and long hair I think. Just be sure to trim them up when they get in your eyes.

Well you can try to protect your hair when you go out wear a scarf or hat unless you going to work or something or you can just dye it a nice color.

eat healthy so theyll stop coming in.
get good shampoo.
dont smoke- smoking helps cause grays.
and make sure your not under alot of stress.

I guess you could colour them, but, your going to have to live with what I like to call the Skunk look. Everytime your natural coulour is going to come back up, it'll leave a nice greyish line on top of your Noggin like the back of a skunk.
