I was just wondering how horrible my straightener is. It costs $10 and its by Vidal Sassoon. One day i left it on for 8 hours because i went to school and when i came back i touched the plates and it did not even leave a mark on my finger. It just stung for a few seconds. I think its probaly around 120F after 8 hours and it keeps getting hotter. What are some straighteners that dont stink. Im willing to spend $50 or less. I heard CHI is a good brand but it costs more than 50. How hot is a decent straightener supposed to get?

Vidal Sassoon.... not a very good brand. You get what you pay for, CHI works wonders!!!! Even if you go the extra bucks... it will be worth it!! As far as how hot they're supposed to get... you would want it to be burning to the touch. Sooo yours isn't getting hot enough. Good luck=).

get a DMX or CHI. my mom has a CHI and it works good. but it was over 100$. worth it.
