They use gel and hairspray and a brush and tease it or poof it and scrunch with their hands. There's tutorials for it on Youtube lol, just look it up on there.

Reply:Blow drying your hair upside down also helps a lot. Use a styling wax/stick to spike select strands helps enhance finger-in- socket look.
Reply:sebastian has a molding mudd that can help it stay up there til you are ready to hairspray it, hair wax helps but best not used on oily hair as it adds oils, and hair putty works, blow dry upside down, then tease with a tease comb, set it with hair spray.

and if you want good hairspray, i like hedbead, and this girl uses it to and u can get it cheap here or just any hairspray you want. :)
