Are there any hair dyes that won't hurt your hair??
henna.

Do some research on it first.

Or wait till college, when your mom can't see you, and dye away.

That's what I did.

You're going to have to conclusively prove to her that henna is safe if you wanna go that route, though.

i'm pretty sure manic panic doesn't do anything..
Reply:ya there is if you dont get hair dies that are not permenint
Reply:dont dye it often and ur hair will be fine and when u do dye it u can buy treatment for hair but allllll hair dye damage hair unless its ur first time then it wont mess up but if u dye it then months later u would have to do it again because ur roots will begin to show but hair dye wont messup ur hair...it will only if u dye it often or bleach it so tell u mom that u would only dye it once and nothing will happend and then when u hair grows since it would be new hair then u can dye it again:)
Reply:If you want to dye your hair to a lighter shade, you're not gonna be able to avoid damage. That's because most ofthe damage done by hair dying is caused by bleaching, or the lifting of pigment from your hair. If you want to go darker, Natural Instincts by Clairol will put in the color for you. However the results will probably not be very dramatic.

Honestly, I use Clairol Hydrience on my hair. It is a permanent dye that uses bleach, but it is very moisturizing and barely damages your hair. I have used it for about 5 years now and it works great for me. My hair is still shiny and gorgeous with very little frizz. I even straighten it sometimes. Another way to avoid damage is to use deep moisturizing conditioners (Hydrience has conditioner included) and also Pantene Pro-V Extra Straight Comb-in cream works wonders for me.

Both Hydrience dye and the comb-in cream are inexpensive.
Reply:Well There is no such thing as dyes that don't damage hair. Bleaching is the worst of them.I'm not steering you wrong but changing the bodys normal appearance using harsh chemicals isn't good and sometimes does not do want you want the chemicals to do. EX: change hair to brown from black and you get red? Many mistakes happen like that but using dyes can burn the roots of your hair and damage it depending how many times you get it dyed. But tell your mom that your hair will be fine as long you don't go get it dyed every week or something like that do it once or almost every month or when ever the dye has worn off. But using it constantly will damage your hair.
