Already chemical straightened hair...?
Don't worry, hair straighteners wont make your hair fall out. Just make sure you put something with a heat protector in it first, otherwise the chemicals from the treatment, along with the straightening, could dry out your hair.
Already chemical straightened hair...?
I have been a salon owner/hair dresser for over 12years now, and I can personally tell you that a straightener CAN make your hair fall out! You should always keep up with whether you have applied an alkaline, or acidic straightener. Never apply one on top of the other or your hair WILL FALL OUT! Also you can test the strenght of your hair by removing a few strands. They should stretch like a rubber band when you pull on them, not break, if your hair is in good condition. Also you need to use and anti frizz control such as Bio-Silk, or a CHI product and apply a flat iron. The longer you can go without washing your hair after a chemical the better it holds. Also when washing your hair, Suave is one of the best "over the counter" products you can use. The others, such as thermal silk only put a wax coating on your hair. And most important, Wash your hair with warm water repeadily until it lathers. Then it is clean. After that use should rinse your hair with as cold of water as you can stand. That will close your hair follicles and leave your hair with a greater shjine. Warm water opens them and allows you to fully clean your hair. You also should apply sea breeze, or wash you hair with shampoo and baking soda to remove any build up before a chemical application, or when needed for cleansing purposes.
