How do you get curls to stay in?

I curled my hair with my straighteners and it looked great. I put plenty of hair spray in put the curls wouldn't stay in! Any ideas?

put a fixing styler in when your hair's wet (like mousse), and after don't put too much hairspray on because the weight of the spray will pull on the hair and make the curls fall out.
Reply:The way I keep my curls is by using a sea-salt spray and I hairspray the curls the second I do them and then later on, i seperate them and it looks really good, but if you wanted to keep the definied curls, use some curling serum
Reply:after you've curled, use L'Oreal Elnett Hair Spray - it has a nice smell, is really fine so wont make your hair look like straw and can be brushed right out to leave really nice hair, unlike some hairsprays which leave you with greasy hair. When I use it, it keeps my hair curly for ages.
