Purple hair dying question?

Last year, i did all of my hair dying by myself, (black, brown, purple, red) up until i dyed my hair "blonde" and it turned yellow. Since then iv'e been going to the hairdressers and getting the shade before black.

I can't be botherd going to the hair dressers right now ,and i have purple hair dye here. If i dye my hair at home, will it work, and next time go to the hairdressers will it dye properly again?
Purple hair dying question?
If your hair is near-black now, it won't pick up the purple pigment, but it'll end up like a purplish black hue, which looks nice.

But if you want it bright purple, you'll have to strip it, maybe bleach it, and then dye it.

You can do all of this by yourself, but if you want to make sure it looks right, go see a hairstylist, and NOT just someone at great clips or cost cutters. They tend to suck at life.

By the way, I love purple hair, so I think you should do it, if you're not worried about hair damage like I am. (See my hair damage question for more info on THAT one. ) :(
Purple hair dying question?
sure. streak it and it cant look bad
Reply:Yeah you need to bleach dye it blonde or strip your hair because purple wont show on dark hair. At least not any purple dyes I have seen. Maybe just bleach the ends and color them.

I am not sure but maybe you can peroxide your hair to lighten enough for the purple to take. Just a suggestion I have never done that. So be careful!

Best of luck.
Reply:NO NOT UNLESS U KNOW WHAT UR DOIN.
