are you new to the game, i mean fresh out of school? do you have any type of clientele? and, does this salon have a "walk-in" clientele? if the salon does have a steady flow of walk-ins and you're not getting any, i'd try to find a different salon to work at. How are you promoting yourself? that is very important, people aren't going to come to you, you do have to go get them. good luck.

I've seen some advertisements for specials with new stylists - say a coupon deal such as, "Cut with Mabel for $20.00 with this coupon on Wednesday". Maybe this is something the owner of the salon would be willing to let you advertise for, or even just put a bright %26amp; catchy sign in the window. You could also look into advertising in a local paper. I don't know much about how the salon business works, but I have heard that you can be an independent contractor in some circumstances. You also want to tell your other clients that you are at this new salon so that they know where to find you. In my mom's day, they used to call clients a "following" (don't know if that is still the term) but get the word out that you are working at XYZ salon in downtown ________. If this isn't the situation, you should find an appropriately quiet time %26amp; speak to whoever is assigning "walk-ins" to stylists and ask if there is a problem.
