How do they make their hair do that little poof thing?

So I was wondering how those "scene chicks" get their hair to do that little cute poof thing. When ever I try it just ends up looking like I have tons of knots at the top of my head. D:

you have to take a part of hair at the top, then you take a comb and tease it,


like hold up one piece,


then comb down the piece of hair from the top, it gets like poofffy after your done one piece, then you do it to each piece then uur done

its just teasing, or backcombing.


when you do it do small sections at a time


and only do it about an inch above the roots,


or you'll get the knotted look.





use i fine tooth comb and backcomb the top layer.

Reply:It looks like they just straighten that way. Im guessing they use a lot of hair spray to get it to stay like that!

you have to ask your hair dresser to razor your hair
Reply:back-combing. but if you do ti too much, its bad for your hair. a good blow-dry will give you volume but not that exact look.





divide the hair on your crown into sections of about 2 inches.


hold at 180 degree angle to your head (ie straight up)


get a fine toothed comb.


starting at the end of your hair, comb it backwards, ie towards your head. do it slowly and gently.


you'll notice your hair will probably be bunched close to your head. this is normal. comb it out as normal. it should have the volume you want.





now you just need to tease it out with your fingers or a teasing comb, and spray the hell out of it.
